Tds on salary

09 December 2011 If in a company, a employee is joined in the month of Nov on salary of Rs.25000, but he does not furnish the previous employer salary data.

is company liable for TDS deduction on that salary?

Please suggest me.

09 December 2011 Furnishing of previous employer's data is optional and not mandatory for the employee. in absence of any information company is not liable to deduct tds as the gross limit has not been exhausted.
