This discussion clarifies whether Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) is applicable on the interest component of a term loan taken from PNB Housing Finance Ltd. Generally, TDS on interest is not applicable when the loan is obtained from a banking institution like PNB, as per Section 194A of the Income Tax Act. Therefore, you likely do not need to deduct TDS on the interest paid to PNB Housing Finance.
