21 January 2010 The company is availing the CAB services. Is TDS applicable? Whether transporters and travel agents are one and the same? For transporters the TDS is not applicable if they quote PAN no.

21 January 2010 yes, Tds applicable. Travel agent and transporters are not same. for Goods transporters, No tds if they quote PAN. It is not applicable to passenger transport u/s 194C.

21 January 2010 Yes, TDS is applicable u/s 194C. if payment is made to individual or HUF then 1% after 1 Oct 2009 and if payment is made other then these then 2%.
exemption from TDS after providing PAN is for transporters of goods not for passenger transport.
