I have made payment of TDS online for my client for A. Y. 2015 - 2016. But by mistake bank had debited the same amount twice instead of one. It is the mistake of bank since the same amount has been debited twice and bank statement shows time of payment for first chalan at 5.39 and for second 5.40. I tried to explain the bank officer that to fill TDS chalan payment online, it takes at least more than 5 to 8 minutes to fill all columns. But they said that to claim refund from the department. My query is
How to claim refund for the excess payment ?????

You can adjust the excess payment in next remittance/next quarters or claim refund if no further TDS payable.
