amount payable=10000 service tax=1236 my doubt is that on what amount tax is to be deducted? on 10000 or 11236 or 8764?

TDS will be deducted on the full amount.

Then the service provider as well as the receiver will be liable to pay proportionate service tax depending upon the nature of the service...

In case of reverse charge there will not be TDS on Service TAx portion borne by you.
