19 March 2011 X is a manufacturing co. One of their factories is at Gujrat and the otehr at Dadra Nagar Haveli. Gujrat is their registered office and their head office is at Mumbai. Currently X has two tan no.s,one for Mumbai-gujrat and other for Dadra Nagar Haveli.Can X cancel both these no.s and take one TAN No. for Mumbai by which all the TDS deducted at Gujrat, Mumbai & Dadra Nagar Haveli is paid. Pls clarify, very urgent.

First of all TAN NO. is same on the line of PAN. As you cannot operate through multiple PAN NOs. similarly you must have only a single TAN NO. Any ways you first contact at NSDL Pune or approached with Assessing Officer. You have to surrender your either both or any one of them. Remember you can deduct TDS for multiple places on single TAN NO. as it is centralize.
