09 October 2009 I have to paid professional fees for the month of July'09 to Sept'09 which will be booked in accounts in October.

in that case TDS rates will be revised or the old rates will applicable for this?

but from October onwards no educational cess except salary & non resident & foreigh companies.

so should i deduct only 10% or 10.30%

09 October 2009 Edn Cess & SHEC removed w.e.f. 01.04.09.

Deduct @ 10% only

09 October 2009 old rate will be applicable because the invoice date will be sept 09.
Otherwise the new TDS rates will be applicable.

09 October 2009 As Expert Naik said irrespective of Prior to October 2009 or after October 2009, TDS rate as per Sec 194J is 10 %, no question of 10.3% for entire F.Y 2009-10.

However many of us deducted edu. cess and in that case also there should not be any problem if we deposit that.
