23 September 2015 My Company is having plant at various locations. It provides the facility of Guest House where the employee, guest can take food on a chargeable basis. The Guest House is charging an amount for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are also maintaining bill book for making bills for the guest. Also, they provide rooms to guests for staying.
I want to know whether the Company is liable to pay ANY tax on:
1. Food (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
2. Rooms Stay Charges
If yes, then please provide the section under which it is mentioned.

23 September 2015 1 Service tax payable on food provided from AC restaurant.
2 If room rent is less than 1000 no service tax payable.

23 September 2015 Whether the Dining Room (containing AC facility which is used based on climatic condition) within the Guest House which is providing food to their company guests and employees will qualify for paying Service Tax?

24 September 2015 No service tax payable if food is provided to employees and guests.
