tax on salary for employed out of India

29 October 2009 Dear Sir,

I am employed out of India from feb 2007 till date. I want to know whether salary received is taxable in India or not. I have not filed the tax return for last 3 years also. Please tell me what kind of penalty could be imposed.

Make your qerry more clear.U are in job outside & u have the salary out side india,Then its not taxable.You need to file return in india if u have taxable income in India.

Thanks for ur answer. I am employed out of India since 2007. I dont have any Income in India for last 3 years. Previously I was filing my return but since I am outside I am not able to file return. Now I am returning to India, how can I file return or last 3 years. Is there any penalty for non filing etc
