20 January 2012 We have been allotted a Tax Deduction account No.. Now we have started selling scraps for which we need a Tax collection account number.

Should we apply for a TCS no. or TDS acocount no. can also be used for this?

20 January 2012 TAN no allotted is for both TCS and TDS no need of another no. You just deposit the TCS in ITNS 281 quoting the TAN no allotted to you.

20 January 2012 Separate TCS number is not required. The TAN number will be used.
