service tax payable is not deposit

31 March 2009 if service tax payable is not deposit with time on 31st march then.......service tax payable is treated as income. this is right or wrong .. pls clarify the subject

31 March 2009 We are not clear on your enquiry.

The aspect of service tax being treated as income on what grounds.

Service tax payment is towards liability, if it is not liability and still paid, it is to be treated as advance payment of liability and cannot be treated as an income.

Advance service tax is adjustable in subsequent period.

If you could please elaborate more on the clarification sought by you.
