Dear Sir,
I am purchasing a flat alongwith a parking space at Rajarhat, Kolkata. The builder is asking for service tax even on the parking space. According to me, service tax is not applicable on parking space. Please tell me the actual position in the matter.

Service tax is not applicable on Parking if it is done at public place. for example if you go to some shopping mall and park your vehicle there and the incharge their charge you Rs. 20 and gave u a slip for the parking space then it is not comes under service tax regime because he is doing the parking publicly. But if is not public place and it is chargeable to service tax.
