22 March 2013 can service tax department levy notice for penalty of A.Y. 2005-06 in year 2012-13.I have just received such an old notice.

22 March 2013 yes sir, Department can send a notice for the said period. because from 2001 it is deemed as self assessment and later on department can servay the documents.
