Service Tax in case of charitable event

14 July 2008 If we organise any charitable event or function where we take donations from corporate houses and even the donations shall be used for charitable purposes itself, then what are the liabilities towards payment of service tax in that case.
1. Should we pay service tax as a whole?
2. service tax to be paid for performances and all.
3. any other liability towrds service tax?

please do me this favour.

14 July 2008 in the present senerio of service tax laws service tax provider replaced by "any person" in place of 'commercial concern'. so purpose is secondry now, but depends others facts of the case also to calculate chargibilty.
