SERVICE TAX

This query is : Resolved

02 August 2010 When a person deposits his service tax on due date by cheque payment, but cheque is realized after the due date. Does he attract late payment of service tax ?

02 August 2010 When a person deposits the challan GAR-7 by cheque on or before the due date but cheque is realized after due date, then in such a case the date of presentation of cheque (and not the date of realization) shall be considered as the date of payment, thus in such a case there is not pelalyt for late payment

02 August 2010 In present days the tax is online payment the problem will not arise, even you paid tax by cheque the the date of tendering which is challan seal date is considered

One more note; as bankers point of view the cannot release challan with out making actual payment in through online
