13 November 2012 One of the case was selected for scrutiny the same was barred by limitation. Dept. was not completed scrutiny assessment in time. What will be the action of dept. on scrutiny assessment which was time barred. Pl. give the consequences in this aspect on assessee.

13 November 2012 The department will try to pressurise you to sign the back dated work sheets. Be careful. Negotiate properly on the merits of the case.

13 November 2012 Is there any chance to reopen the assessment under 148. Pl give the consequences from dept. side in this regard.

20 November 2012 Normally the 148 is REVENUE dependent. If the assessing officer has reason to believe that the "loss of revenue" is BIG, then he/she may go for 148. BIG is very very relative term.
