01 January 2011 Medical reimbursement given to an employee
is exempt upto Rs.15,000/. If an employee produces a bill above that limit which is actually incurred, if the full amount reimbursed by the company what will be its tax treatment? Please clarify in detail with all provisions of IT Act...

01 January 2011 Reimbursement implies that expenditure is actually incurred.

If Full amount Say Rs 25000/ is reimbursed
in a year than deduct 15000/ from it which is allowable as deduction , Balance 10000/ will be taxable.

If the reimbursement is towards expenditure incurred in Govt Recognised Hospitals, it would be completely allowed.
