09 May 2009 what is the difference between salary & incentive salary? will be incentive salary included in gross total salary of employee.

10 May 2009 Dear ,Difference is Salary is fixed per month but incentive is not fixed.Taxation purpose this is included.

11 May 2009 It not only included in the salry but also included in the basic salry for the purpose of calculating the exemption of HRA under section 10(13A). See the decision of Apex Court in the case of Gestetner Duplicators Prvitate Limited 117 ITR 1.
