Dear Sir,
One of our clients filed the returns five years back for claiming refund. After that this year they came to file because to claim refund Last years they did not file the returns, What is the procedure to file? All previous year"s should be filed? and other one is For low income group of people they will file for bank loan, whether they have to file every year?

the retrun can be filed before the completion of one year after the year of due date of filing of return
OR
The day on assessment order been passed 144
WHichever is earlier.
By elaborate the provision... We can say the return can be filed till 31-3 of the next year of the due date of filing of return. E.G. Lets assume due date of filing of return is 31-july-2008 then the last date of return filing is 31-3-2010.
So, in ur case, the return which is of before 5 years cant be filed. you can file this return only if the AO ask to file return u/s 142(1). No other way out
