what is the procedure for removal of director in a public limited company?

Members may remove a director by means of an ordinary resolution requiring a simple majority. This is a statutory right that cannot be taken away by the articles.

A member can be removed by rotation in a public limited company and if he is not re-elected he is automatically removed.
Now, removal of director no doubt requires a ordinary resolution to be removed but why a director is removed. Other provision for removal of directors are mentioned in Section 284
