A research associate in medical sciences department receives a stipend of Rs.36000/- per month, which is exempted u/s 10(16). Is he liable to file his returns or pay Income tax?

10(16) is for scholarship and it is tax free . But income tax on stipend as such is
debatable. So decision is up to you to file or not.
