Reimbursable Part of Salary

31 January 2011 One Company allows its employees to produce bills for landline telephone, medical and uniform allowance and that comes as reimbursable part over and above what is in Form 16.

What will be tax treatment of the same.

31 January 2011 Yes an emplyer can pay residence teleohone
of the employee subject to production of Bill But ITO sometomes disallow part of the expenses paid as used for private purpose.

Medical reimbursement is is not taxable in the hands of the employee to the extent of Rs. 15000/- in a year. Employer should ask for medical bill

Uniform allowance is also exempted subject to production of BIlls
