If an association is registered as a society in 1999, then can it be registered u/s 12A under income tax act, 1961 now?

Yes society can be registered u/s 12A of income tax Act.

But sir, can a it be registered now if it was registered as a society in the year 1999, as registration has to be done in the year of formation and commissioner has no power to condone the delay.

If the society registration valid as on date(annual fees might have been paid with registrar of societies) the registration with commissioner of income tax can be done now. The income tax exemption is available from the date of approval of 12A registration.
