ITR 3 FILING OF AN INDIVIDUAL (PARTNER IN A PARTNERSHIP fIRM)

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
Filing ITR 3 for an individual who is a partner in a partnership firm can be tricky regarding partner salary. If you enter the partner salary in both the P&L section and the BP schedule, it can lead to double taxation. The P&L section in ITR-3 is typically for proprietary businesses. To avoid this, if you don't have a separate sole proprietorship, bypass the P&L section entirely. Report the partner salary exclusively in Schedule KP and the relevant partner rows of Schedule BP.

09 July 2026 Hello There,
on 9/7/26 I filed ITR 3 of an individual who is partner of a partnership firm
For Partner Salary interest (previously I showed only BP Schedule) but now I notice that in P/L credit Side two more line added (14)xi b & c.
example: suppose salary 200000/-
1st time I shown only in Bp schedule and its error in upload level (error was i have to shown in P/L)
then i show the amount in p/l and as well as bp schedule then I notice the amount became exact double.
MY QUESTION IS IF I SHOW PARTNER SALARY IN P/L IS IT NECESSARY TO SHOWN IN BP SCHEDULE(IF NECESSARY THEN WHAT IS THE TREATMENT FOR NOT SHOWING DOUBLE SALARY INCOME)

PLEASE HELP

10 July 2026 Part A-P&L in ITR-3 is for a proprietary business. Entering partner salary there and again in Schedule BP causes double taxation.
If there is no separate sole proprietorship, select "No" to maintaining regular books of accounts in the initial profile section. Completely bypass Part A-P&L and report the salary exclusively in Schedule KP and the partner-specific rows of Schedule BP.

10 July 2026 Without entry in p&l there was upload level error

10 July 2026 Fill the details in relevant columns of Schedule P&L, no need to fill schedule BP. It will reflect in schedule BP but it doesn't get doubled. Check schedule TI for the income....
