This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses an NRI's confusion regarding incorrect foreign remittance entries appearing on their AIS and 26AS statements for the 2025-26 tax year. The user needs guidance on filing their ITR-2 as these remittances did not actually occur. The advice provided is to submit feedback via the Income Tax portal, file the ITR-2 accurately reflecting actual income, and keep bank transaction records as evidence.

11 July 2026 AIS statement shows foreign remittance receipt under section 195 of INR 80/- with TDS Rs.25/- plus interest on savings INR 109/-. whereas 26AS shows only foreign remittance receipt of INR.80 with TDS Rs.25/- divided in quarterly sums .
But in reality there is no receipt . Guide me for filing ITR2. no other income in India.

11 July 2026 To resolve the reporting of non-existent foreign remittances in your AIS and 26AS, provide feedback directly through the Income Tax portal, file your ITR-2 reflecting your actual income, and maintain documented proof of your bank transactions to support your position during potential scrutiny.

12 July 2026 Thanks very much...........................................
