SUPPOSE A PARTY WANTS TO CANCEL GST NUMBER AND WANTS TO FILE FINAL RETURN. BUT BEFORE THAT NUMBER IS ALREADY CANCELLED BY DEPARTMENT.
NOW, WE CAN DIRECTLY FILE FINAL RETURN OR WE HAVE TO REQUEST DEPARTMENT TO START NUMBER AND THAN TO DO CANCELLATION APPLICATION???

I don't know but I think final return will be open after you filed all pending return of your GSTN. if it is possible then I would like to know.
P.s. there are many cases where GSTN cancelled after application but still not able to file final return.

GSTR-10 (final return) can be filed directly within 90 days of issuance of order for cancellation.
