I am a student of ipcc and giving may 13 attempt. which books should i refer for income tax to get max no of marks. i tried vinod sighania; taxmann they are too big and i couldnt complete my studies properly. can you all guide me which is the best book from exam point of view

02 February 2013 Every book is too big if you do not read it in a planned manner. Income-Tax requires a continuous as well as repetitive readings.

A too short book may not be felt sufficient as the expected level is higher.

Books you have mentioned are good books. It's true that in Singhania's Book every time you have to jump here and there.

The best way- First control the subject, by reading and understanding the notes. You may download the Notes available on the CAclub website, or elsewhere. Then go through the text book and modify suitably.

Allot ample time to the subject.
