Rate of tax to be taken

08 November 2012 if bill was raised before 1st april 2012 and the payment is received in current date than at what rate service tax is to be paid,i think it should be 10% but i found 12% is taken into account .suggest please

It should be 10% only. As per point of Taxation rule Sefvice Provided & Invoice rasied before 1 Apr then 10% rate will be applicable.

19 November 2012 But i struck with a notification which states
the provision of 12%,Kindly again look into the matter.

20 July 2025 Since both the invoice and service were completed before 1-Apr-2012, the applicable service tax rate is 10%, not 12%, regardless of when the payment is received.
