Query regarding Medical Allowance and Mediclaim.

Whether the Assessee (Male - not a senior citizen) is eligible to
claim Medical Allowance for a sum of Rs.15000/- and Mediclaim Insurance under Section 80C for a sum of Rs.10,000/-.

Medical allowance is taxable whereas reimbursement of medical expenses is tax free upto Rs.15,000/- per annum.

Mediclaim is allowed under section 80D subject to the conditions mentioned therein.

Thank you for your immediate response.

I wrongly mentioned as Medical Allowance. You are right, it is only 'Reimbursement of Medical Expenses' i.e. the assessee produces the bill monthly and claiming Rs.1250/- aggregating to Rs.15,000/-.
This is the actual position.

Now, the same assessee is claiming Mediclaim Insurance of Rs.10000/-.

I am able to understand now that the assessee is eligible for both.

Sir, please confirm my understanding.
