10 August 2024 To apply for a Profession Tax (PT) number as an LIC (Life Insurance Corporation) Agent in Maharashtra, follow these steps:

### **Procedure for Applying for Profession Tax Number**

1. **Determine Eligibility:**
- LIC Agents, being self-employed professionals, are required to obtain a Profession Tax registration in Maharashtra if their income exceeds the prescribed threshold limit.

2. **Gather Required Documents:**
- **PAN Card:** Proof of Permanent Account Number.
- **Aadhaar Card:** Proof of identity and address.
- **Address Proof:** Recent utility bill, rent agreement, or similar documents.
