Pls advise..

This query is : Resolved

12 January 2015 One of my friend's dad,who is 68 years old, never filed ITR as his total income was below the exemption limit. I realise from his Form 26AS that some TDS has been deducted on his Interest Income from the FY 2008-09, i.e., AY 2009-10, every year.

The total amount of TDS, till date amount to around Rs. 1,00,000.00.

I would appreciate if you please advise if he can file ITR for previous years to claim refunds. If yes, for how many years.

13 January 2015 It can be filed for 2 Asst. years i.e. AY 2013-14 and AY 2014-15.

13 January 2015 you can file the return on F y 2012-13 onwards.
