31 December 2009 Is it not compulsory for Employer to deduct PF of all Employees irrespective of their Basic Salary????

31 December 2009 employees drawing salary (basic+DA+retaining allowance) in excess of Rs. 6500/ are termed as exempted employees under pf act.

But if once an employee is covered it will remain covered forever irrespective of its salary structure. eg. and employee drawing salary rs. 6000 and same is covered now if salary is increased to rs. 10000/- pm then pf is to be deducted upto rs 6500/-.

Hence an employee drawing salary upto rs. 6500/- is covered under pf act and pf is to be deducted.
