Payment Made to Wrong Assessee Code

08 June 2010 Dear Sir,

We have tow Different Companies & Different Assessee Codes for them.

While making Payment of Service tax by Internet , by mistake I am entered A companies Code to make payemnt of B companies Dues.

So, Sugget me how to Rectify this issue.

It,s Very Urgent, SO do needfully.

08 June 2010 There is no system of rectification.

You may make an application to the range superintendent, with a copy to the Commissioner and the Pay & Accounts officer. The application shall accompanied by a no claim declaration from Company A.

As there is no such provision to adjust payment by one assessee with the other, the outcome purely rests with the departmental authorities.
