A partnership firm has not filed its income tax return since its incorporation from the last 6 years. They have PAN number also. Now they want to file the return for current assessment year 2012-13 in March.
Can they file the return of current year since they have not filed the return before?

Dear Manju,
Kindly file return for the AY 2011-12 and AY 2012-13 (related returns).
once you do this, represent before your AO stating that you have by mistake not filed the returns for earlier years and request him to issue notice under 142(1) or 148.
