09 October 2013 Whether a minor can have PAN

If yes then who will sign the Application

when a minor attains 18th year age should he apply for new PAN ?

09 October 2013 Yes Minor can have PAN, his/her guardian can sign on his behalf.

No, after attaining 18yrs he is not required to have new PAN.

10 October 2013 Agree with learned Expert Vaibhav ji,

A minor can apply for pan number but all things to be done by guardians as suggested by Expert...

But after attaining majority,

You need to fill up a form called "Request for new PAN card or/and changes or correction in PAN data" which is meant for corrections of data in PAN card and issue a fresh PAN card after corrections and insertion of the Signature of the Child with updated photo...

So, the Pan card becomes the ID proof with his own Signature and with the updated photo...
