05 August 2016 An Individual is an nri and wants to file his return so he has to fill the itr 2A form? But as we have to fill the employer details and the pin code of dubai is five digit so am getting an error so can any one help me? And wanted to confirm that his salary income of foreign will come in the exempt income schedule under column no 5 of other exempt ??

05 August 2016 if the person is Non Resident as per Indian income Tax, then Dubai salary should be shown under EXEMPT income.

05 August 2016 Sir can we file the NRI return in ITR 1 by showing the salary of dubai in exempt income.. His approx salary is Rs. 9 lakh

(If the said NRI is having any asset outside India, then better go for ITR 2

05 August 2016 Thank you sir.. He is not having any foreign asset. And if he has returned back to india to settle then also we will see only 182 days criteria of residential status as he went outside for employment and now came back.. 60 days criteria will not be applicable right na sir??

05 August 2016 if he has returned....just check....he could be "resident but not ordinarily resident"

right now file the return as said earlier...

05 August 2016 Sir but his number of days stay in india after coming back is less than 182 days so he will be non resident only na..
As he had gone for employment purpose then. We will see only 182 days and not 60 days..

05 August 2016 He came to india on 26 December 2015.. He had gone out for employment on march 2014... So for f. Y 14-15 and f. Y 15-16 he will be Non resident?
