04 September 2010 have recd notice u/s 143 (1),and the income tax was demanded. Now Income Tax Dept has given a notice u/s 143 (2). Whether income tax dept can give notice u/s 143(2)even after giving a notice u/s 143(1)???plz reply its urgent...

04 September 2010 notice u/s 143 (1) is an intimation that you have filed your return and tax has been calculated on the basis of your filing of return .

notice u/s 143(2) is a notice for scruitnee assessment.

04 September 2010 yes notice u/s 143(2) can be issued after intimation 143(1). Notice u/s 143(2) can be issued within 6 months from the end of financial year in which return is filed.
