Dear Experts,
Recently, Income Tax department has changed TDS return filing date of March quarter i.e. 15 May. So what is the date of deposit of TDS deducted on provision made on 31st March.
If the date is 31st May, how can we file return on 15th May.

The amended rules shall apply only to the tax deducted at source on or after 1st April 2010.

Notification No. 41/2010; SO No. 1261(E) dated 31.05.2010. The amended rules will apply only in respect of tax deducted on or after 1st day of April 2010.

I AM ALSO ASKING IN RESPECT OF ASSESSMENT YEAR 2011-12. SAY I DEDUCT TDS ON PROVISION ON 31ST MARCH 2011. PRESENTLY DUE DATE IS 31ST MAY 2011 FOR SUCH PAYMENT. SO IN PRESENT SCENARIO HOW CAN WE FILE RETURN ON 15TH MAY 2011. HOPE MY QUERY IS CLEAR NOW.
