30 March 2010 Hi, The recent amendments in perquisites on the Food & Beverages say that if they are paid through Non-transferrable Vouchers during office hours, then, they are exempt.

Now, does this Rule apply to the Amounts paid through Electronic Meal Cards issued by the Banks ? It will be great if I can get the response at the earliest.

30 March 2010 yes.It is applicable Rs.50 per meal is exempted.Circualr No.15/2001.mentioning says expenditure on provision on free meals so free meals covered eletronic meal cards also
