This query is : Resolved

10 June 2010 I want to claim LTA for two years I am married female, whether i can claim for my spouse's parents also

10 June 2010 Yes. Can be claimed for spouse & Parents and Brothers & sister who they are wholly dependent on employee

11 June 2010 BUT AS PER SEC ONLY PARENTS OF INDIVIDUAL SO SHOULD WIFE CAN CLAIM FOR HUSBAND'S PARENTS IF THEY ARE DEPENDENT ON THEM.

12 June 2010 Please reply..........

12 June 2010 No.We cannot interpret the section like that. Parents of Individual means the Assessee whether Husband or Wife both are different assessees and parent meaning only father & mother not father in law and mother in law so.my opinion you cannot claim for your husband`s parents LTA exemption

03 February 2017 Can I claim for my dependent parents

07 February 2017 Please reply whether claim is allowed for dependent parents?

03 August 2024 Claim for Spouse and Children: You can claim LTA for your travel expenses and those of your spouse and up to two children.
Travel with Parents: While you cannot claim LTA for your parents, you can still travel with them, but the expenses for their travel will not be covered under the LTA benefit. You would bear these costs personally.
