Limit increase of gratuity

27 October 2010 Dear Experts

As limit of ceiling has been increased from 350000 to 1000000 as per Payment of gratuity (Amendment) Act 2010, whether this amendment will be applicable to PCC/IPCC for nov 2010 exam

Kindly communicate date on which above bill became act.

27 October 2010 Enhancement was made by The Payment of Gratuity (Amendment)Act,2010 dated 18/5/2010. Made effective from 25/05/2010 vide Notification SO.1217(E).

However corresponding amendment in section 10(10)(iii) of the Income tax Act,1961 was made vide Notification 43/2010 dated 11/06/2010 for those employees retired... .. on or after 24/05/2010.
