JOINT NAMES

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
If you hold shares jointly with someone who has passed away, it's not an automatic transfer. You will likely need to complete a transmission form. The company has confirmed that a succession certificate is indeed required in such cases to process the transfer of shares to the surviving shareholder.

11 March 2021 I have shares, with myself as first shareholder, with second name of my mother, who has expired.
Do I still need any succession certificate?
Company is asking to fill in transmission Form, isn't the transmission to first holder automatic?

12 March 2021 It's not automatic you have to fill the form. Succession certificate required.

12 March 2021 Thank you Mr. Seetharaman
