31 December 2013 Respected All, My company has received a contract from one of the party to manufacture a product at their premises i.e. at the contractor premises. Plant & Machinery & one of the main raw material will be provided by Contractor. I want to know which provisions/ rules of central excise/ service tax will be applicable on my company i.e. on contractee. Is this s job Work? Pls advise me

31 December 2013 If principal manufacturer is paying the duty on final products and send the goods on jobwork challan then no need to pay service tax on these job work to jobworker. other wise jobworker will pay the service tax on job work activity.

02 January 2014 My problem is our company will perform the activity at the premises of the client as all machineries are installed at client site. one of the raw material will also be provided by the client.

02 January 2014 Excise duty will be payable by principal manufacturing even if manufacture the goods at client premises. If any input or input services used in this manufacturing activity. Principal manufacturer can take the cenvat credit on the basis of taxable invoice. Invoice should be mentioned in the name of principal manufacturer. No liability will arise on job worker and client.
