01 October 2013 AS 30th Sept. 2013 is the last date for filing the IT return online. Due to IT server problem unable to file the return. Please advise whats the implication on this. Is there any penalty if yes how much.

01 October 2013 In case if you file audit report manually with the AO for your area on or before 30-9-2013 then you not liable for penalty for delay in submission of ITR and only liable for payment of interest u/s 234A,234B and 234C if applicable.

In case you either manual filing of audit report no done on or before the due date then AO has a right to levy penalty of 0.50% on gross turnover/receipts upto maximum of Rs.1,50,000.

Income tax department extends due date for filing of returns from 30 September to 14 October 2013 for the assessee of Gujarat.
