Plz explain input vat in interstate purchase(within 2 states) and intrastate purchase

Inter State Purchase- Purchase goods from outside the state(ex.If you are in Karnataka Purchasing goods from AP) then CST will applicable
Intrastate Purchase- Purchase goods from the same state -VAT will applicable
Intrastate Purchase- Purchase goods from the same state -VAT will applicable
