House rent allowance

29 September 2011 If a person Join Co. in July 2011.

He didn't get HRA for the month Apr 11 to Jun 11 in his previous Company, but he will submit rent receipt from April 11 to March 2012 to new Co.

Since his HRA starts from July 2011 & onwards. So how to calculate HRA under this circumstances ?

Is Rent paid by employee for Apr 11 to Jun 11 will be considered while calculating HRA ?

His Salary Details are as under

Basic 16000
DA 8000
HRA 8000
Other 16000

Total 40000

The said Employee is paying rent Rs. 7500/- per month. He lives & work in Mumbai. i.e. Metro Cities.

I request you to please give me working for the above case.

29 September 2011 Hra calculating for the days / months for which salary has to paid.

HRA will be start from July 2011 and rent paid also considered for the same period.

30 September 2011 Dear Mr. Navin Jain,

If Mr. A get Salary for the month of Apr 11 to June 11, and his Salary for the same period doesn't include HRA, then Rent Receipt for the month of April 11 to Jun 11 to be considered or not for HRA Calculation ?
