30 August 2010 VAT- is an Indirect tax, applicable to sale & purchase of goods and leveied by the State Govt

Service tax-is an Indirect tax, applicable of services and leveied by the Centrl Govt

Income tax is a Direct tax, applicable on Income of a persons

Employee- is a person working with employer

Self employee-person having working own without any employment

Companys- Registered person under Companies act,1956

Investor- person who is Giving funds for Investment
