Dear experts
could a proprietor is eligible to run two units under proprietorship concern in GST act. Pl clarify at your earliest.

why only 2....s/he can run n number of units.....GST can NOT go against the NATURAL justice.

Thanks for the reply but the thing is GST can be allotted on the basis on PAN . How an individual can hold 2 pan nos for opening separate entity's.Pl solve the issue

you are unnecessarily stretching it too far.
Try to understand, at present, under VAT also, a person can have n number of proprietory busiess. The VAT number remains the SAME. This is because VAT is allotted to individual which s/he can use for all of his/her proprietory businesses.
Now what is your confusion?

My dear sir
One of my relative is holding 2 proprietorship units (holding vat Nos.) .Now the commercial tax is insisting for separate Pan No. for the 2nd unit. Their concern is about Pan No. We are so much of confusion in this regard.

yes you are right he is having two separate vat nos under one Pan No

Please........for the time being REMOVE/KEEP ASIDE your idea of linking PAN with VAT Ok?????????
If you are sure that there are 2 VAT numbers of same STATE, for 2 PROPRIETORY business of SAME person, cancel one of them with immediate effect.
(I am still having great doubts.....since VAT is a computerised system in most of the STATES, issuing 2 different VAT numbers to same INDIVIDUAL is NOT possible.....if it has happened, please cancel the one which is issued later.)
