There is no tax on gift given to relative, it can be of any amount.

17 April 2014 you can give the gift in cash and not include in hand of received but income tax officer not see the cash gift in good eye.

they always have doubt the cash .
so you can tfr through RTGS/NEFT or via Cheque. and also make gift deed for future.
