Getting into practice - help

Im about to finished my articles and wish to get into practice asap. Can anyone help me with the basic proderural parts for the same with Icai. Also I have gmcs due this Oct'11 and my seniors tell that it may take 3-9 months to get my membership details. If this is so then what can I do till that point of time.

First complete your gmcs otherwise you can not apply for membership number, one more thing beside membership you also need to obtain the COP from the institute.
